As a result of global warming, sea level rises year by year and on the other hand, an incredible increase of global population continues. These issues influence considerably human population in coastal and island regions in the near future. It is going to be essential to develop new areas that allow people to inhabit. Seventy percent of the Earth surface is water and because of sea-level rise the ratio of it gets more. It causes the need for inhabiting over the water surface. The project is improved as a solution to sea level rise concerns and it is a floating unit can be sprawled over the water surface.
This first development unit called “NetGreen” is designed about 150m x 150m. It is a self-sufficient unit and energy efficient. It has a mechanism that allows to move around according to the need of this unit such as sun light, rain. It consist of residential areas, vertical farms, fishing areas, fresh water collecting areas and solar panels. The form of the unit is inspired by the flexibility of fishing nets. Residential, commercial and service areas are located between two skeletals that are formed like these nets. Besides, these nets create pits and mounds used for vertical gardens, solar panels and fresh water collecting areas.
