MASK Architects Unveils Visionary  Design for Project "Tavolara," 30.5-meter Fast Cruising Sloop Redefining Luxury Performance Sailing

MASK Architects is proud to unveil its conceptual design for Project "Tavolara-100," a groundbreaking 100-foot (30.5-meter) Fast Cruising Sloop poised to set new benchmarks in luxury performance yachting. This visionary design has been developed by MASK Architects as part of a highly prestigious competitive process, commissioned by one of the world's leading luxury and sport sailing yacht brands, headquartered near Udine. Project "Tavolara-100" is conceived as the most technically advanced yacht ever to be realized by the esteemed client, meticulously tailored to fulfill the specific requests and unique vision of its discerning owner. MASK Architects' design aims to embody this ambitious brief, creating a vessel that marries unparalleled speed and efficiency with exquisite aesthetics and ultimate comfort. Oznur and Danilo, Founders of MASK Architects, articulated their design philosophy for Project "Tavolara": "Project "Tavolara-100"  represents a truly unique opportunity to push the boundaries of yacht design," stated Oznur Pinar Cer and Danilo Petta, founders of MASK Architects . "Our vision for this 100-foot Fast Cruising Sloop is to create a harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology, aerodynamic efficiency, and sophisticated elegance. We are channeling our expertise into every detail, ensuring "Tavolara-100" will not only be a triumph of engineering but also a floating masterpiece that redefines the sailing experience."

Project "Tavolara-100": A Fusion of Speed, Luxury, and Engineering Mastery

The S/Y "Tavolara-100" is envisioned as a high-performance monohull designed for both exhilarating speed and exceptional comfort, showcasing MASK Architects' commitment to innovation. Every aspect of its conceptualization is geared towards pushing the boundaries of modern yacht design.

Hull & Construction: The foundation of "Tavolara-100"'s projected performance lies in its advanced hull. It will be constructed using a carbon fiber composite in sandwich construction, incorporating either a foam or balsa core. This intelligent combination is crucial for achieving maximum structural rigidity while maintaining an ultra-lightweight profile, essential for a true fast cruiser. The manufacturing process will employ the highest standards, utilizing epoxy resin infusion through VARTM (Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding) or, alternatively, an autoclave process. These techniques ensure the perfect impregnation of fibers throughout the hull, resulting in a flawless and incredibly strong monocoque structure.

Rigging & Sail Plan: The "Tavolara-100 "'s rigging will be equally advanced, designed for unparalleled efficiency and control. It will feature a High Modulus Carbon mast, a premium material chosen specifically to significantly reduce weight aloft. This reduction in weight at height directly improves overall stability and enhances sailing performance, allowing the yacht to

harness wind energy more effectively. The sail plan will include state-of-the-art 3Di sails by North Sails, renowned for their superior shape retention and strength, manufactured using Dyneema and carbon fibers for superior strength and precision shaping. Additionally, the strategic use of Technora fiber will further contribute to a lightweight yet highly durable sail configuration, perfectly optimized for performance cruising.

Deck & Interiors: The exterior deck will showcase classic elegance with a modern twist, finished in natural teak laid seamlessly over a composite sandwich structure. This approach offers a perfect balance between timeless aesthetics and modern engineering, ensuring durability and reduced weight. Internally, the design philosophy emphasizes both luxury and weight efficiency. Interiors will be crafted using lightweight composite panels, honeycomb-structured materials, and lightened fine woods. Furthermore, carbon fiber will be thoughtfully integrated for aesthetic detailing and to further contribute to overall weight reduction, creating a contemporary, high-tech interior atmosphere that speaks of both sophistication and performance.

Advanced Onboard Systems: "Tavolara-100" is planned to be equipped with state-of-the-art systems to enhance the owner's experience and autonomy. Electric or hydraulic winches will facilitate semi-automated sail handling, significantly reducing physical workload and optimizing control for precise maneuvering. A full suite of integrated home automation will be a cornerstone of the yacht's convenience, enabling centralized or remote control over lighting, climate systems, and onboard electronics. Most notably, the yacht will be powered by a cutting-edge hybrid propulsion system, further enhanced by innovative energy regeneration capabilities while under sail, ensuring both remarkable sustainability and extended autonomy during longer voyages.

This project represents a commitment by MASK Architects to pushing the limits of modern sailing yacht design, where every material choice, technological solution, and design direction is meticulously chosen to combine beauty, intelligence, and performance. "Tavolara" is not merely a yacht; it is envisioned as a floating expression of innovation, elegance, and engineering mastery.
